One of the questions we teach everyone to ask prospective job candidates goes like this: “Tell us a little bit about what you do for fun, when you are not at work?” What does this have to do with healthy lunches and a healthy workplace?
We ask what candidates do for fun because we are looking to get a better sense of what inspires and motivates the person we are about to add to our team. And if you ask me what I do for fun, you would hear about my food blog, and the fact that I once pursued a professional career as a chef. You would also hear about my passion for growing my own herbs and finding healthier ways of cooking.
Since our bodies are constantly regenerating themselves, we really are what we eat, and a steady diet of french fries and eaten-on-the-run fast food is obviously not the best fuel. I know I can do a better job of improving my intake – and maybe you and your employees can, too.
With that in mind, and since this is the traditional time of year to start thinking fitter thoughts, HERE are some awesome make-ahead, low-carb, healthy lunch ideas for a healthy workplace.
